We are pleased to share that Diana Hamade has been invited to speak at the 13th edition of the Rencontres Internationales Althémis, to be held on 9 October 2025 at the prestigious Salons de l’Hôtel des Arts et Métiers in Paris.
Organised annually by Althémis – a leading French think tank and legal forum for private client professionals – the event brings together jurists from across jurisdictions to explore complex international legal issues in the context of wealth structuring, matrimonial regimes, inheritance planning, and private international law.
This year’s theme focuses on the challenges of international mobility, with a comparative legal lens. The day will be divided into two key perspectives:
- Morning: Legal considerations for individuals departing France, including matrimonial regimes, minor representation, gifts and inheritances, life insurance, remote court appearances, and exit tax implications.
- Afternoon: Issues surrounding the arrival of foreign nationals in France, including succession law, trusts, spousal property frameworks, impatriate tax regimes, and tracing foreign rights under the “droit de suite”.
Diana has been invited to contribute insights from a UAE and Gulf region perspective, with particular focus on:
- Cross-border matrimonial regimes and guardianship of minors,
- Recognition of foreign donations and wills under UAE law, and
- Legal mechanisms for estate planning and wealth protection in a Sharia-based jurisdiction.
Her participation underscores the increasingly global nature of family law and succession planning – and reflects the firm’s growing influence in cross-border advisory matters for international families, private banks, and wealth managers.
We are honoured by this invitation and look forward to contributing to this premier legal forum in Paris this October.
