We are proud to share that Diana Hamade recently represented the UAE at the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL) European Chapter Meeting, held in Istanbul from 21–25 May 2025. The prestigious event brought together leading family law practitioners from around the world to explore key developments and cross-border issues shaping the future of family law.
As a longstanding IAFL member – having joined in 2010 as the first Arab woman lawyer from the Middle East & North Africa – Diana’s presence carried special significance. Over the past 15 years, she has grown alongside the Academy, mentored by some of the most esteemed family law practitioners worldwide.
In her own words:

Diana was honoured to speak on two panels during the conference. One particularly impactful session explored the religious and secular aspects of marriage and divorce, where Diana and her co-panelists – Mani Singh Basi, Delphine Eskenazi, and Marzia B. Ghigliazza – discussed the intersections of law, culture, and gender. The panel, moderated by Mert Yalcin, underscored a shared global commitment to advancing women’s rights within family law systems.
Often referred to as the “Diva of Family Law” and affectionately dubbed the “Doyenne” by Spears magazine, Diana continues to represent the UAE on the international stage with distinction and passion.
